The agenda

Three things Westlands can hold the office to.

These are pledges for if Westlands elects Collins. After the vote, they stay on the supporter desk as the work of the office.

  1. 01

    Infrastructure Connectivity

Smart traffic management, stabilized utility networks, secondary drainage infrastructure, and modern public lighting corridors across all wards.

  • Free ward Wi-Fi hotspots

One hotspot in Kangemi, Karura, Mountain View, Kitisuru and Parklands. The room has desks, power backup and printing, so a student or a trader can work without paying for a café. It is a pledge for if Westlands elects Collins, and it stays on the desk afterwards as work the office can be held to.

  • Ward halls & coworking hubs

A hall should be usable on an ordinary Tuesday, not only on the day of a function. Students revising, and people who work from a single room at home, need a quiet place with light and power. The same hall still hosts the ward meeting.

  • Community welfare fleet

Collins will look past the public budget. The KAKAMOKIPA logistics initiative is a planned community transport network for Kangemi, Karura, Mountain View, Kitisuru and Parklands. This is not an NG-CDF project. He will seek partnerships and development grants from private organisations to put two 51-seater community buses on the road. The proposal is in the pipeline. The buses move only when a grant is secured. The constituency would provide the vehicles. Families and groups cover their own fuel. A request on this desk is a request that can be tracked.

  • Light up Mountain View lanes

Mountain View and Gichagi lanes go dark early. Lighting is the first measured job for this ward: so people can get home, and so evening trade does not stop at dusk. It is one pledge, with a number of people behind it, not a slogan.

  • Westlands Tech & Innovation Hubs

The hub is for young people who are learning to build software, or who already can. It sits in the Westlands commercial zone, close to the firms that can offer a mentor or a first piece of work. The tools and the connection are part of the pledge. It is not a classroom in another part of the city.

  • Boda-Boda & Mama Mboga Safety Nets

One fine, or one week off the road, can wipe out a rider or a trader. The pledge is a small group framework: mediation when a county fine lands, and emergency cover paid for by private grants, not by NG-CDF. It does not replace a licence. It stops one bad week from ending the work.
